About the Roundtable |
Women Entrepreneurs are the fastest growing segment of new business start-ups. More and more women are taking on the new role of business owner in addition to the traditional roles of wife, mother, mentor, caretaker. Most of us don't have healthy role models to show us the way to create a successful business and maintain enough balance to fulfill the other roles that are also important to us.
Created by Women - for Women
The Women Entreprenuers Roundtable is a virtual support group started in January 2000. The Roundtable meets twice monthly by telephone on the first and third Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Pacific (2 p.m. Eastern) Time for an hour each session.
Whether you are starting out, have been in business for a while, or just want to figure out what's the next step for you, you're invited to take an hour each month to recharge your batteries with a group of women who are challenging the status-quo in the same way you are. This roundtable provides a discussion forum and support for anyone who runs her own business, or is interested in starting her own business.
During the first Wednesday meeting, you'll have the opportunity to network with other women entrepreneurs, to ask your own questions and to help provide answers for others. For the third Wednesday session we bring in specialists to discuss topics related to the specific issues that face the small business person. Get real-world answers from other women who have successfully addressed the same issues you may be facing.
The Roundtable is facilitated by Katie Darden and Gabrielle Parkinson, business partners at the Career Life Institute. We are directors of a successful business women's networking group in Northern California that has been in existence since 1985. We're both on the Board of Directors of the Women Entrepreneurs Institute, a "non-profit without walls" that provides training, conferences and networking events to showcase women entrepreneurs. The Institute also provides entrepreneurship and marketing classes primarily designed for people who are starting or expanding their business. We are trained coaches, providing leadership and life skills training as well as personal and professional coaching for the small business person.
